Heat is on as pupils get cookingBUDDING Gordon Ramsays and Delia Smiths showed off their culinary skills in a cookery competition. Pupils from schools across the North West, including the Isle of Man, spent one-and-a-half hours making a two-course meal for two people. The selection of dishes included curry and a seabass recipe. The contest, organised by the Rotary Club, was held at Radcliffe Riverside High School last Wednesday after the school won last year. But they were unable to keep the title, losing out to a pupil from Whitby High School in Ellesmere Port. Food teacher Gill Cockerham said: “It was a wonderful occasion. It was very calm in the cookery room and there didn’t seem to be any stress or nerves. Everyone was very focused and worked very hard. “There was a lot of washing up at the end of the day though!”
